Systems Approach in  Family Therapy and Art Therapy

In response to applications from Greek psychology students in Bulgaria,
PISEP starts a Training Program, conducted IN ENGLISH.
It is also fit for other foreign students in humanitarian specialties and for English speaking Bulgarian students and humanitarian professionals.

The training substructure of PISEP:  The Family Psycho Social Institute (FPSI) – full member of The Training Institutes’ Chamber of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA – TiC)
and
The Bulgarian Association of Art Therapy (BAAT)

                        Basic level  (120 training hours)

                        Work with children, groups and families

This training is conducted in small groups, utilizing psychotherapeutic methods from the field of family therapy and art therapy.

The aim is twofold: Acquirement of new practical knowledge and enhancing the personal growth and emotional competence of the participants.

The training is suitable for specialists and students of the helping professions (psychologists, social workers, doctors, special educators, occupational therapists, those working in facilities for children and the elderly, public educators, school counsellors), as well as for artists.

Graduates of the basic level can choose to continue on to subsequent levels to qualify as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

      Some of the TOPICS of the Basic Level, included in its 7 modules:

  • Couple relations.
    Phases.
    The interplay between personal autonomy and interdependence.
  • Differences in the psycho-social dimension of Traditional and Modern Society. Impacts on relations.
  • Problems in child and adolescent development.
    Difference between individualistic and systems approach to their treatment.
    Parental relationship and its impact on child subsystem.
    Relationship between the personnel in an institution and the impact on the institution’s clients (children, elderly, other).
  • Family relations. Some diagnostic methods: Genogram, Social Atom.
    Mental health indicators – boundaries, norms, patterns.
  • Family dynamics across the life cycle.
    Functional and dysfunctional families. Crises as a stimulus for personal and relationship growth.
  • Difference between using methods of visual art for diagnostics and for personal and interpersonal expression and enhancement of constructive development.
    Creative process and product creation. Fantasy and symbolic processing of reality. Artistic metaphor and its impact on reality.
  • The unconscious as a resource. The interplay between the unconscious and conscious mind.
  • The role of feelings and self-reflection in working with individual clients, with  children, with families and groups.
  • Systemic insight and emotional-cognitive integration.

 

Duration: 7 months. Trainings held on one weekend monthly from 12 PM to 6 PM  The time in between training is filled with individual work. with exercises and educational literature. A certificate of completion of this level is awarded.

Fee: 220 BGN per weekend   10 % discount for students
  /If the fee is paid by an institution, it is  260 BGN  per person/.
